Hygiene Chargehand - 4 nights on, 4 nights off - £12.25*
The Hygiene Chargehand is responsible for supporting the hygiene supervisors with the management of the hygiene cleaners in order to maintain and improve hygiene standards within the factory.
- Lead by example by showing hygiene cleaners how to clean machines and areas thoroughly and ensuring they follow the correct procedures.
Assist the hygiene supervisors with ensuring the hygiene cleaners are working to their optimum by providing them with clear instructions regarding the tasks to complete and providing appropriate support and guidance.
Help the supervisors to ensure tasks are delegated fairly between the hygiene team and that all cleaners have had suitable training to complete the tasks assigned to them.
Ensure the most efficient working methods are used i.e., by making sure attention to detail is met when breaking down machines, cleaning and then reassembling them. Including ensuring the reassembly instructions are followed and that the production lines are rebuilt as per the production plan and ready for production to commence at 6.00am.
Working with the engineering department and reporting if any equipment is broken or damaged or asking for assistance if it is required when dismantling or moving machinery.
The role is within an extremely fast paced environment. Applicants must have the ability to manage a busy and demanding workload, have strong organisational skills and be able to prioritise, be attentive to detail and be able to remain calm under pressure. They must have an Understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations, knowledge of recent hygiene legislation and an awareness of Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
Hours of work are 7.00pm to 7.00am working an eight night pattern where four consecutive shifts of 12 hours per night are worked, followed by four consecutive nights off.
